    Jake Wallin, LMHC

Hi, I am Jake Wallin. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with children, adolescents, and adults who have ongoing challenges with depression and anxiety. My goal is to help you stop dwelling on negative thoughts and restructure them to be from a more positive framework; leading to change and fostering growth. I use a combination of therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strength-based, solution-focused, and traditional talk therapy.

What Led me to Become a Therapist

As I grew up, I loved being someone who people felt safe to talk with. Many people have come to me when their minds were full and helping others has always felt natural and effortless. I felt connected to them as I listened to each of their stories. It immediately became a passion of mine to help others. I have been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help. We all have gone through our own struggles and I know the value of having a space to explore and process them. My hope is to assist in the healing process and allow those the opportunity to achieve more fulfilling lives.

What I Want For You During Our Sessions

I am committed to encouraging you to experience healing and transformation through understanding, collaboration, and inspiration in a nonjudgemental space. Our sessions will provide you with the room to be understood and heard. In feeling safe and comfortable, you will be able to gain clarity and express your thoughts and feelings. There is not a “one size fits all” approach to counseling. Our sessions will be tailored to your specific needs and concerns.

    My Professional Background

I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Central Florida (UCF). I am a recent graduate and was gifted the most up-to-date information and techniques to assist in the therapeutic process. During my time, I worked in various clinical settings including schools, hospitals, and private practice.
