    Anna Stacholy, MS, LMHC Bilingual

Hi, I am Anna Stacholy, a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I support clients in advocating for themselves and overcoming obstacles that impede them from healing. I desire to relieve pain and instill hope while concentrating on achievable objectives. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I have successfully worked with children of all ages. Behavior is the language of children and problematic behavior is often a cry for help.

I specialize in helping people heal from emotionally destructive relationships. Breaking up is often painful, but if you find yourself stuck in an endless loop of grief and longing, additional support may be needed to help heal your wounded heart. I am passionate about helping people build on their strengths and learn to write a new narrative for their lives when the old narrative is no longer serving them.

What Led Me To Become A Therapist

Becoming a therapist was a career change after spending 20 years working in corporate America. I wanted to directly help people and after exploring career options, I found that counseling seemed the best way to combine my beliefs in the human capacity for change (when given proper support); while exploring family systems as well as systemic issues that impede healing.

What to expect during our sessions

As a therapist, I will always remind you that you are not broken. I will give you room to access your own wisdom. I will support you in recognizing patterns and beliefs that may be negatively impacting your life. We will focus on growth, decreased anxiety, and personal empowerment. My philosophy can be best expressed by a quote: “Everything that we see is a shadow cast by which we do not see” (MLK Jr). Or put another way: the unseen and unhealed aspects of ourselves are typically running the show. Once they are acknowledged, they can be more easily worked on.

    My professional background

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Rollins College in Orlando, FL, and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic College. I have worked in various clinical settings including non-profits, schools, universities, treatment centers, and private practice. I am trauma-focused, always asking “What happened to you?” and never “What is wrong with you?” I have extensive post-graduate training in child development including Touchpoints, Circle of Security, Trauma Focused CBT, and I am rostered in Florida as a Child-Parent Psychotherapy provider.
