Jaisy Gutierrez, LCSW, LCSW (bilingual)

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with children, teens and adults who have ongoing challenges with depression, anxiety, adjustment, self-esteem, trauma, grief, substance abuse, and domestic violence. I utilize an empathetic, supportive and integrative approach tailored to meet the needs of the individual. I employ the use of experiential methods as Sandtray, Play therapy and Psychodrama in individual, couples and family sessions.
What Led Me To Becoming A Psychotherapist
Growing up in a home with a parent who misused alcohol, I often had to deny feelings of sadness, fear and anger in order to survive. As a teen and young adult, I struggled a lot with the pain of the past. I know what it’s like to have difficult childhood experiences and still be affected by them well into adulthood.
What To Expect During Our Sessions
While the idea of psychotherapy may seem unsettling, I am committed to walk alongside you and help you gain skills to create a meaningful life and make your experience worthwhile. My goal is to guide you towards your own unique journey of growth and empowerment by building on your strength and resilience.
My Professional Background
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Fordham University in New York. I also received my Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College Graduate School of Social Work. I am currently continuing my education in EMDR for trauma resolution as well as Psychodrama and Sandtray therapy. I am currently a candidate for the Registered Play Therapist credential.
