Mikki Cobb, LMHC, RPT
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. I work with children who have difficulty calming down their big feelings and have experienced tough stuff in their lives. I conduct individual and family sessions using a variety of interventions such as Sand Tray Therapy, and Individual Play Therapy.
My goal is to help you identify and stop those big feelings, before they cause behaviors that could get you in trouble. We will take the “big” andapply it to empowering you to make “big” changes!
What Led Me To Becoming A Counselor
Since an incredibly young age, I have known that I wanted to work with children and to help people. Being the sister of someone with special needs, gave me the drive to help others that are in need. It is very easy for children, teens and adults to have difficulty with their feelings and that is the way that I have chosen to help others.
What to expect during our sessions
I strive to create a safe and playful environment for a child to explore their feelings in. In feeling safe and comfortable, children will be able to express their thoughts, feelings and ultimately feel understood and heard.
My Professional Background
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida. I have received my Registered Play Therapist credential from The Association for Play Therapy.
