Divorce Mediation: A More Collaborative Path Forward

When you’ve reached the decision to end your marriage, the process does not have to be overwhelming, costly, or contentious.

Mediation provides a structured process in which a neutral, unbiased third party guides you through the steps necessary to reach an agreement and move forward with the dissolution of your marriage.

    Why Choose Mediation?

    Autonomy

As a neutral third party, I facilitate a balanced and collaborative process that allows you and your spouse to maintain control over the decisions that affect your lives.

Rather than leaving important decisions to a judge or entering into an adversarial and potentially costly litigation process, mediation gives you the opportunity to create an agreement that reflects your unique circumstances and priorities.

I am trained to help you understand the issues that need to be addressed and to guide you through the process of reaching mutually acceptable agreements.

    Cost-Effective

Mediation can be substantially less expensive than traditional litigation, where each spouse typically retains their own attorney and pays associated legal fees and retainers.

Mediation allows you to work together toward an agreement while avoiding many of the costs associated with an adversarial court process. Courts also frequently encourage or require mediation as part of the divorce process.

    What Is the Mediation Process?

As your mediator, I will guide you step by step through each issue that needs to be addressed. My role is to remain neutral while helping you communicate effectively, identify areas of agreement, and work toward practical solutions.

Each mediation session is one hour. Depending on the complexity of your circumstances, approximately two to five sessions may be needed to address the issues involved.

The goal is to reach a mutually agreed-upon plan that is fair, equitable, and appropriate for your individual circumstances. Once an agreement has been reached, I prepare the necessary mediation document for submission to the court.

    About Me

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring more than 15 years of experience in conflict resolution through couples counseling.

My approach combines compassion, thoughtful communication, and solution-focused, systemic thinking. I look at the bigger picture while remaining neutral and free from judgment or bias.

Divorce can be emotionally challenging for spouses and children alike. Litigation can add another layer of conflict during an already difficult transition. While I do not provide therapeutic advice during mediation, I strive to create a supportive environment where both parties feel heard and respected.

I see you not as a “case,” but as people navigating a difficult season of life—and I am here to help you move through the process with greater clarity, collaboration, and dignity.
