Florencia Sabugo, LCSW, EDMR trained (bilingual)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes working with children, teens, and adults. I help those that are experiencing the aftermath of trauma, struggling in relationships, and dealing with depressive and anxious symptoms. My goal is to help you stop dwelling on the negative thoughts, the weight of your inner critic, and to ultimately start living the life you want through healing and transformation. I use a combination of experiential approaches like psychodrama, play therapy, EMDR, sand tray, along with traditional talk therapy.
What Led Me To Becoming A Therapist
While I was in high school, back in my home country, Argentina, my friends would tease me. They would tease me because, I easily saw injustices that drove me to intervene and act. I believed that everyone deserved support and a lending hand. The passion that I had for that belief, led me to the world of social work. When I relocated to the US, my desire to continue social work advanced, but in a more clinical setting. This helped me understand the concept of what drives human behavior and helping others. Being a caring witness and companion to those who are hurting or struggling is my passion. I understand the pain, as I have experienced my own heartache. In various modalities and settings, I have found good therapists that have journeyed with me to areas that can be painful to visit alone. For them I am grateful, and my hope is to help others as I was helped!

My Professional Background
I have a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Buenos Aires and hold a master’s degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. I am a learner at heart. I am invested in evolving my knowledge/skills through ongoing training, consultation, and practicum. I am trained in many experiential/expressive arts modalities such as psychodrama, sand tray, play therapy, and EMDR.
A significant portion of my past clinical experience has been working in the non-profit world with families with children ages birth to five. This has offered me the opportunity to be trained in Infant Mental Health and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). I am rostered in Florida as a CPP provider.
In working with children and families I believe it is crucial to have parenting training. I have been trained in Touchpoints, Redirecting Children Behaviors and Circle of Security (Group Facilitator training).
Currently completing the requirements for EMDR certification as well as Psychodrama Certification.
“I consider it an honor to support people through a period of their life, providing an environment for exploration, healing and change.
