Sandra Katz, LCSW, Bilingual , EMDR
Hi, my name is Sandra. I have extensive experience in the mental health field and am a dedicated bilingual psychotherapist committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with resilience and confidence. Fluent in Spanish, I specialize in working with professionals facing stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma, offering a tailored approach that fosters personal growth and emotional well-being.
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, where I began my studies in psychology. I later continued my journey in the United States with the goal of becoming a psychotherapist. As an immigrant, I navigated many challenges, including periods of intense anxiety and persistent feelings of not being enough.
My decision to become a therapist has been deeply shaped by my personal mental health journey, my family experiences, and the life challenges I have encountered along the way. A genuine desire to serve others, to understand human behavior, and to explore the roots of emotional pain has guided me toward a more meaningful and balanced life.
This path continues to shape my work, grounding my commitment to support clients with empathy, insight, and authenticity-while honoring the ongoing growth and healing I practice in my own life.
What I Want for You During Our Sessions
During our sessions, I value honesty, openness, and emotional safety. As you begin to feel more comfortable, I invite our work together to become deeply authentic and genuine. My hope is that you feel secure enough to bring your full, true self into the space we share.
From that foundation, I am committed to offering my clinical knowledge and experience to support you in moving toward a life rooted in self-acceptance, fulfillment, and meaningful connection.
My Education
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad Santo Tomás in Bogotá, Colombia, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. I have also completed specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I remain committed to ongoing professional growth and continually seek to expand my knowledge and skills, with the goal of providing the highest quality care and support to those I work with.
