Sharon Snow, RCSWI
Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern
Hi, I’m Sharon Snow. I’m a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern and a holistic counselor with a purpose: to make therapy feel more human, and more like a regular, healthy lifestyle practice. It’s like going to the gym, taking a yoga class, or attending an annual wellness check, but for our heart, mind, body, and soul. I work with adolescents, young adults, adults, older adults, couples, and families, supporting you and your loved ones through life transitions, relationship dynamics, anxiety, grief, trauma, and the many complexities of the human experience. I have a particular passion for helping women, especially those navigating midlife, changing identities, and unexpected transitions. My goal is to help you turn grief, pain, or chaos into stability and acceptance, and to build self-awareness, connection, growth, and renewal. I use mindful lifestyle practices, psychoeducation, and practical skill development, grounded in compassion, authenticity, and a trusting therapeutic relationship.
What Led Me to Becoming a Therapist
My work is deeply shaped by my own life journey, and my rearview mirror is packed with a lifetime of changing landscapes: motherhood, international living, divorce, financial hardship, profound loss, and personal reinvention. I understand that life rarely unfolds as planned. Returning to school later in life, rebuilding my sense of independence, and finding my village gave me a purpose that is fundamental to my outlook today. I have learned the value of resilience, self-compassion, and the grace of beginning again without judgment. These experiences allow me to meet you where you are, bringing not only my professional training and academic knowledge, but also genuine empathy and appreciation for the courage it takes to heal and grow. My calling as a therapist is to serve: to help you feel more connected to yourself and others, rediscover your inner strength, and create a life that feels fulfilling, purposeful, and authentically your own. I believe we are all doing our best with the human experience we share.
What I Want for You During Our Sessions
My sessions offer a warm, judgment-free space to exhale, unpack, feel heard, and explore difficult emotions, moving forward at your own pace with compassion, curiosity, and, when appropriate, even a little humor. Together, we’ll learn healthy communication styles, build emotional awareness and regulation, work through anxiety, low mood, or complex grief, and set achievable goals for a life of intentional living with greater clarity. I offer a place where you’re supported to map out your next beautiful chapter, discover little “ah-ha” moments, and perhaps even bravely welcome not only the beautiful moments but also the painful, messy parts of life that have been waiting for a long-overdue sort-through. I humbly invite you to meet with me, ask questions, and explore whether I’m the therapist you’re seeking.
My Education
I returned to school later in life as a non-traditional student, balancing family, work, and running my own business. Within five years, I earned a Bachelor of Social Work (Summa Cum Laude), a minor in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Social Work from the College of Social Work and Criminal Justice at Florida Atlantic University. As a Graduate Research Assistant, I co-authored a peer-reviewed article in Psychiatric Services, a journal of the American Psychiatric Association, on forensic peer mentorship and probation outcomes. My internships in nonprofit and clinical settings deepened my understanding of the diverse needs of the individuals and communities I serve.
While I’m grateful for my academic path, the most profound lessons I bring to my work come from my own lived experience of loss, grief, and trauma. They shape the empathy, warmth, and non-judgment I strive to bring to every session. I remain committed to lifelong learning and continued professional development, so that I can offer thoughtful, compassionate, person-centered care to those who entrust me with their stories and their healing.
A Quote I Love
I believe that through pain lies opportunity for wisdom and great learning. Maya Angelou’s words are a kind reminder to embrace life’s complex seasons, to do our best with what we have and know, and to gently hold space for ourselves one day at a time.
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
— Maya Angelou
